Afua was a panellist at the 2026 Leeds International Festival of Ideas, joining host Samira Ahmed alongside Ashley James, James O’Brien and Ash Palmisciano for the panel ‘We all belong here, don’t we?’. The discussion asked what it really means to belong in Britain today, exploring national identity, immigration and community at a time of deepening division.

The session took place in the Courtyard theatre at Leeds Playhouse on the final day of the festival’s sixth edition, which ran from 6 to 10 October 2026.
