An Evening with Arundhati Roy
Booker Prize-winning author and political essayist Arundhati Roy joins writer and broadcaster Afua Hirsch at Brighton Dome’s Concert Hall for an exclusive evening exploring her life and work.
Roy, one of today’s most esteemed public intellectuals and author of novels including the acclaimed The God of Small Things, will draw on themes from her new memoir Mother Mary Comes to Me for a compelling exploration of her journey from childhood to the present, from Kerala to Delhi.
Born out of memories and feelings provoked by her mother Mary’s death, the memoir is described as “an ode to freedom, a tribute to thorny love and savage grace.”
The evening will feature a one-hour discussion followed by a 30-minute Q&A session, offering audiences a rare opportunity to hear from one of the greatest writers of our generation and have their questions answered directly.
A post-show book signing will take place in the foyer.
